Looking after No.1

Your body will always reflect your reaction to life and stress is something that can take a negative toll on your health. It can lead to insomnia, fatigue and emotional exhaustion and we all know that you cannot look or feel your best if you are not at the height of health!
Share your problems

As cliché as it may sound, a problem shared really is a problem halved! It can help free you from your isolation and give you someone to discuss a course of action with, if the problem is something that can be solved.

Know your limits

People all live and work at different paces. If you are someone who finds it easiest to take things steadily, do not feel forced into a pace that exceeds your ability by a large margin. Or if you have many commitments, you may need to take a step back and acknowledge that you cannot be a super-human. It is a question of finding balance between your commitments, whilst remembering, of course, to give yourself some leisure-time too.

Think things through

It is all too easy to panic about things, but often you will find that once your problems are listed, you can deal with them one by one and your load will seem much lighter! Also, try to think positively! Research shows that thinking positively actually has a good effect on your physical health. Remember, positivity puts people places!

Take time out for you

A nice bath at the end of a long day or just taking a few minutes for a breather when things seem too hectic can do wonders to help you unwind and approach life with a refreshed attitude.

How do I get e-mail?

Email is a simple form of communication and used by millions throughout the world and is the way of the future.

It is critical to stay in touch and having an email address will help. If you already have one please make sure we know it.

If you would like an email address here are some helpful hints:

I don’t have internet access - Local libraries offer internet access, as do the new BT telephone boxes, internet cafes in cities, train stations and airports. Once you are online simply follow the steps below.

I have internet access - There are several ways to get a free email address, for example log-on to www.yahoo.co.uk and sign up for a free address or go to www.emailaddress.com where they list companies who provide free emails. Complete the online forms and type in a word/name you would like your email address to say e.g. sarahjones@............ If this is already in use you will be prompted for a different one. Once confirmed you can begin to use and access your account - remember to let us know too!
