extracts by Laura Halls, Assignments Manager
 Madame Tussauds:
Freerange Communications, a central London PR agency, called our Assignments Team in January to cast a young Chinese boy to appear at the press launch of a special Chinese New Year exhibition at Madame Tussauds.

To celebrate Chinese New Year 2006, Madame Tussauds introduced a special attraction to showcase some of the new colourful and exotic wax
figures being created for Madame Tussauds Shanghai. The line-up included Jackie Chan, martial arts legend Bruce Lee and seven and a half feet tall basketballer, Yao Ming. Our 7year old, Kent based, model Lucas was perfect for the exciting assignment. Not only does he have a fantastic, fresh and cheeky look, but he wowed the assembled press by chatting to them in Cantonese! Lucas had his photograph taken with the waxworks and took part in a Chinese calligraphy workshop and an Eastern storytelling to mark the start of The Year of The Dog. Lucas had great fun demonstrating his kung fu moves next to an image of his idol Bruce Lee and thrived on the attention from the Chinese press. Lucas’s mum Louisa said “We had a fantastic time at Madame Tussauds.

Lucas really enjoyed it.  There were loads of press there; one photographer did a really fantastic shot of Lucas jumping up at Yiao Ming, the really tall basket ball player. A couple of Chinese TV channels were also there and interviewed him and said that it will be going out on their channels.  Lucas really enjoyed the day and he says he wants to do loads more!”

 Cosmic Link:
Models Direct were delighted to be working with Cosmic Link Hairdressers again. Three female models were chosen to have their hair and make up styled for a photo shoot for promotional material and trade advertising for an international chain of hairdressers, based in Tokyo. The shoot took place in Cosmic Link’s London branch, in South Kensington. This is the third shoot we have done with the company, who have also worked with our child models in the past. Rebecca said “Shoot went well. The stylists were all very nice. The booking process was very good and organised.”Deborah added “I found that it went well, the whole team were extremely friendly and professional. We managed to work through the different looks quickly. The other models were also very nice and friendly and I am sure that together we managed to present models direct in a positive light. I would like to thank you for organizing this assignment for me and look forward to working for models direct in the near future.” Each of the models will be sent CD copies of the stunning photographs to add to their portfolios and proudly show to family and friends. Elena summed the day up “The photo shoot at went very well. I enjoyed every minute of it. Especially as it proved to be 15 minutes walk away from the place I live in London. So, it was so convenient.   We were all there 15 minutes before the agreed time for the assignment, so we started straight away. The whole team was extremely professional, very well organised. No time was wasted. We were very well looked after, with a lot of care and attention.  We had a beautiful range of clothes to wear and happily exchanged jewellery amongst ourselves so as to suit our clothes best. All in all we all made a wonderful enthusiastic team. I really enjoyed the whole day.”

 Jim’s Mowing:
On a cold a frosty January morning two smiling faces were at Norwich Station to brighten the day of the morning commuters. Jim’s Mowing, local business franchise, had booked two of our Norfolk based models for a promotional assignment to hand out literature and advertise the firm. Ebony and Vania were chosen by the client for their winning smiles and striking looks. They were supplied with gardening outfits and worked together to two hours greeting commuters with leaflets & chocolates. Vania said “The assignment was absolutely fun. I really enjoyed representing Jim’s Mowing through Models Direct. They treated us respectfully and professionally.
Thanks for the opportunity.” Ebony added “The promotional work was

fantastic, I felt that the morning was a great success and I really enjoyed myself!” The client was delighted with the models performance saying that “It was a great success with over 400 leaflets distributed to the commuters of Norwich. The girls were superb in both attitude and presentation. Many thanks.”
