Don't expose to the sun!

It's very important to protect yourself from the sun. Most people have the assumption that it's only if you are abroad in the blaze of the hotter sun that you should lather up and cover yourself in sun lotion, however it doesn't matter where you are in the world - the sun is very powerful and can burn our delicate skin even when it's cloudy! It is the UV rays that you need to watch for - and at times you wont even know you're burning.

It's especially important for children and babies - their skin is thinner, softer and more delicate than adults. Try to remember with babies to protect their faces and eyes especially - simply with a sun hat. Elasticated under the chin proves successful as they generally remain on their head and not on the floor!

There are hundreds of sun creams on the market - from those which are very expensive to those which are a tenth of the price and do the exact same thing. Keep children and babies protected with creams - especially water-resistant if you are near a pool side or beach.

With ladies - your most sensitive areas to the sun are your nose, ears and your chest. People often think it's shoulders and back - and miss covering their chest- but the area from your chin down to your stomach is incredibly thin and soft - make sure you remember this when sunbathing. Beautiful gradual bronze is gorgeous - crisp, red and flaky is not!

A fantastic tip for long hair - to protect your or your children's hair from getting dry and breaking, wet it thoroughly and run olive oil through it from root to tip. It must not get dry - keep it wet at all times (dip into the sea or pool). You will see a fantastic difference when you wash it after that day. Hair often gets split and dry after too much sun, but the nutrients in olive oil replace the natural oils and shine that are stripped by intense heat.

 Womenswear Fashion Trends

Womenswear is heading towards a trend of elegant femininity and flattering silhouettes.

The focus shifts from trousers to skirts, with hemlines hovering just below the knee and more casual tailoring with shorter jackets and softened structure.

Even dresses become an increasingly casual option. With a general move away from cotton vests and jersey tops towards more embellished designs.
However, jeans are smarter with tailored cutting and uniform-style details.

The popularity of the shrug helps knitwear stay in demand, along with crochet and textured lace knits, and wrap shapes.
Colour remains vital.

White continues its trend as a base colour, either on its own or as an offset of the brights or pastel tones.
Brights will be strong for high summer casual wear, with tones of clashing turquoise, burnt orange and fuchsia.

There will be cool, chalky neutrals mixed with the lightest of pastels just tinged with colour. Lavender and aqua tones will dominate the pastel colours, with brighter pastels being toned down with indigo denim or white jeans.

The current 'black is back' continues into summer. Darker tones will be a combination of earthy chocolate, brown and khaki tones worn in layers together.
