       You’re on!
For every booking here at Models Direct we have a back-up model in place, in case a first model is unable to make the assignment at the last minute. So, remember that if you didn’t make it to first spot, the situation may turn around at any moment.

Natalie, (aged 19) is very bubbly and outgoing. She has always enjoyed dealing directly with the public and was interested in promotional work, she joined Models Direct earlier this year.

Natalie got her chance for a 1st assignment with us, by being in the right place at the right time. She had been shortlisted for a promotional assignment at the N.E.C Exhibition in Birmingham for a large manufacturing company. She was just pipped to the post by another model who was 1st choice. However, as history will show, many an understudy finds success!
Unfortunately the booked model was unable to attend the event at the last minute due to illness, so Natalie found herself moved up to 1st choice as the back-up model. She received a call from us and was thrilled to get a chance for her first assignment she said:-

"It was a really enjoyable experience The company really appreciated my willingness to step in at such short notice. My role was to help them out at their show stand, supplying potential customers, (some of whom had business links with them in the past), with drinks, snacks, a friendly smile and light conversation while they waited for an assistant to attend to their inquiry. It was a very busy 2 days.

The team were very approachable and extremely helpful. I felt very comfortable almost immediately. It was a very rewarding experience for me".

Mister Cool

Gary (15) joined Models Direct in March this year and he was soon selected by our advertising agency client, WysiWyg Creative, to appear in a brochure for a school wear magazine.

Gary so impressed our client, they returned to ask him to model for them again the following month. This is not unusual. Once a company has chosen a model to represent its 'image' requirement, they often re-book the same model for future assignments.

"I have to admit I was a little nervous, but from the moment I arrived the photographer put me at ease and I soon began to relax. There were other kids there who were doing the shoot with me who were really nice and we got along really well - it was cool! The photographer said I had a great attitude. We had breaks and they even provided games to occupy us while they set up for the next shot, it was great. I want to say a big Thank you to Models Direct for representing me."

The first assignment was in August and due to his attitude on the day (and of course his good looks) he was on his second assignment in early September.

Why catwalk?

In 1885 the word first appeared in the Dictionary.

Grace Rothstein from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York reveals;

"Catwalks were originally much narrower than you'd see today, so that more space could be afforded to potential buyers. Combined with high heels, the walk was said to be so perilous that only a cat could walk on it!"
