Imagine walking into your local bank and picking up a leaflet for a mortgage or a loan and seeing yourself staring back at you! This is going to be the case for 14 of our models next year.

In October Action Images, the UK’s largest independent sports photographic company, were working with Barclays Bank on their new campaign. They needed a selection of models of all shapes and sizes, various ages and ethnic origins so they went to the agency who has the widest variety of models in the UK … Models Direct of course!

Our assignment’s team don’t just send pictures of models to our clients, their job is much tougher, we co-ordinate availability, timing, directions and negotiate fees. Once all of the models had been selected and confirmed we had to ensure that their personalised booking details were sent out in plenty of time, and verify final details with the client.

“We spent the day doing small sample sport shots from rugby to netball while the photgrapher zoomed around getting action shots, it was fun and I met some nice girls. The organisers were very nice and friendly so all in all went well. I think they were pleased with the shots they got of all of us so we shall see what ones they use! I had a good day!” – Dilly

“Everyone got on so well, no ‘divas’! Rebecca thoroughly enjoyed herself and we were all made to feel very relaxed by the people in charge. We really enjoyed ourselves, laughing and joking, we had such a great day. All I can say is thank you so much for putting us forward. We hope to meet up with the other models again” – Sheila

This was a great assignment for the models involved as it is such a huge campaign and their pictures will be used throughout the country – fantastic publicity for all our models!

So young - so verrrry laid back for TV

Children love to see themselves on the television and for one of our little girl models this dream was made a reality when she was chosen to appear in a new TV commercial produced by the company ‘Commercial Breaks’.

Ella Jade, from Norfolk, appeared in the commercial showing off her cheeky smile while she happily laid back in her pushchair being filmed.

Ella-Jade’s Mum Charlotte Beynon said “The day went very well, everyone was really lovely and made both Ella and myself very welcome.

The information we received about the job was great, and the contact you kept was fantastic and made this first job with Models Direct very easy.

Now she cant wait to see herself on TV!”

Television assignments form a section of the work our models do that can be particularly interesting.

Obviously it is exciting to see yourself on the television or as an extra in a film, but the actual shoot day can be both stimulating and enlightening.

Meeting the Director and crew and getting a glimpse into what goes on behind the scenes and all the ‘tricks of the trade’ is great fun and an experience to remember!

I’m Daisy a‘Star Pet’ ‘woof woof’

Meet ‘Daisy’, you may already recognise her from her recent national television appearance. Cactus Television contacted our Star Pets division at Models Direct as they were looking for a gorgeous dog to model the latest American craze - a bumble bee costume!

The assignment was to take place on the on the 28th September … the enquiry came in on 27th September which meant that we had to get our skates on to meet their requirements. ‘Daisy’ was the perfect choice and with less than 24 hours to go her

owners rearranged their schedules to accompany her to the filming of ‘Richard & Judy’ on Channel 4. She did a fantastic job and received praise from the production crew.

Daisy, who is 18 months old, had never been in a studio environment before but was not phased by the cameras and lights.
