| Have
you ever watched TV and thought ‘I’d love to be on telly, how
could I be one of those people in the ads?’ Well another three of
our models now know the answer. As the UK’s leading agency Models Direct not only supply models for fashion, promotions and photographic work, we also work within the film and television industry. Working with production companies and advertising agencies is a daily occurance. At the start of September Models Direct were contacted by Commercials Unlimited, a London based production company who specialise in Television Commercials. They were shooting a new commercial for Holland & Barrett the UK's leading retailer of vitamins, minerals and herbal supplements. Their requirements were, a man in his 40’s, a woman in her 50’s and, a young pregnant woman all had to look quite healthy. The assignments team have to match models to clients requirements on a daily basis and |
sometimes, like with this assignment it can be quite a challenge, one persons
idea of healthy looking is not necessarily another’s. Peter was an easy choice, he has a fantastic and very healthy look, and was overjoyed with his first assignment ; What a wonderful introduction to my modeling career, with my first assignment being a TV commercial. Everything about the day was brilliant. What a buzz from the excitement of meeting Kim Wilde. The pleasure of working with such nice friendly helpful people who made me feel at ease. My fellow models from Models Direct Violeta and Sylvia were both lovely and charming. Can I just emphasize once again what a magical experience it was, a wonderful start to my modeling career and a day I will never forget. Finding a pregnant woman was proving to be much more difficult, women who are pregnant tend not to think of themselves as models. |
Eventually
we resorted to clever special effects and used padding to make Violeta look
pregnant. Sylvia who’s skills include acting and singing was a natural on set and as one of our more mature models is testiment to the fact that there is a demand for models of all ages she said: I enjoyed the job in Wolverhampton at Holland & Barratt. Would love to do some more film extra work, I find it very interesting. So you might not think you have what it takes to be the next big catwalk model but have you considered the other areas of modelling open to you? Next time you are sitting watching the TV look at the variety of models being used. They may well have been supplied by us. Make sure your work fields are up to date as we are constantly working with production and film companies all across the country and next time it could be you! |

Modelling… a serious business? Its
great when our clients come back to us time and time again, for the
past few years Models Direct have been working with Legoland
in Windsor providing models for their advertising. |
We had some fabulous comments on the kids behaviour and professionalism of all the models. The whole day was fun for all involved and what a great way for the children to earn some extra money in the summer holidays - imagine getting paid for a day out at a theme park! Looking
at the smiles on Samantha and Al’s faces though I don’t think
it was just the Kids who had a great time. We look forward to many more assignments with Legoland! Kelly |
