We all love our own animals, but when a couple of our cute pet models became national magazine stars, thousands of readers fell head over heels.

Leading British retailer John Lewis, known for its high-quality home items, fashion and other collections, contacted Models Direct in the hope of sourcing the right cuddly creatures for its Christmas issue.

And, of course, we were able to help them find just the furry friends they needed.

John Lewis’s At Home magazine wanted to create a cover and spread that evoked all the warmth of a family Christmas within a stylish and inviting house.

Essential to the shoot, therefore, were a couple of purr-fect pets who would be comfortable in front of the cameras while also looking the part.

From our shortlist, the team working for John Lewis selected cuddly cockapoo Honey-Belle and regal feline Queenie.

Both creatures were beautifully behaved and Honey-Belle was even invited back for a follow-up shoot.

Honey-Belle’s owners, Sarah and Mark, said she told them:

“I had a great day shooting with Models Direct today!

“I performed so well that the client asked me back for a second day!

“Watch this space and look out for me in a department store near you!!”

And the feedback for Queenie was also animal magic:

“Queenie had an amazing day cat modelling for John Lewis.

“Models Direct was fantastic throughout the whole process and always there if I had any questions!

“Thank you so much – and what a great service!”
