Could this be the dream job for a junior commercial model?
For the last five years over the Christmas seasons, Edinburgh Castle has attracted families with its Castle of Light extravaganza. The famous Scottish landmark comes to life (and light) with spectacular illuminations and dazzling displays. For many, it’s a staple in their festive calendars.
Though the 6-week event has snowballed in popularity every year since it began, like most brands Edinburgh Castle knew that an event is only as good as the last one. Therefore, they needed some fresh PR ahead of the 2024 Castle of Light to entice even more footfall. They could have approached us with a modelling brief for a single family or a diverse group of engaging models, but instead they opted for a junior model.
The lucky model chosen for this special assignment was Izabell. She was to take part in a PR photo shoot to showcase all that the Castle of Kight has to offer. We stress that any junior model must be accompanied on set by their parents or someone over the age of 18, so these types of modelling jobs can be a memorable day out for the family.
Working with a professional photographer proved a fantastic experience for our budding model, and Izabell soon saw her images on the Edinburgh Castle website. This is often the best part of a modelling shoot: seeing the finished results in all forms of media, whether its in print or on official websites or social media sites. It makes everything worthwhile.
The Castle of Light is a creative juxtaposition in that it uses modern technologies to highlight Edinburgh’s long history. State-of-the-art light installations project historical stories on the castle’s walls, treating visitors to a tapestry of rich storytelling. Education and fun is always a winning combination and although we don’t know how much Izabell learnt, we do know that her Edinburgh modelling experience was highly enjoyable.
Izabell told us, “That was a great job, and I worked with a really supportive professional team.”
What better for a young model to be the star of the show in a prestigious shoot seen by thousands of people?
This assignment emphasizes the range of opportunities open to models of all ages. This wasn’t a fashion shoot; it was more of a promotional campaign to attract the attention of tourists and families looking for something to enjoy during the festive season. The need for a junior model like Izabell was immediately obvious; without one, the campaign’s impact would be lessened, and fewer people would attend the spectacular event. That’s the job for models for such PR roles: to appeal to like-minded customers and create an enticing aura in advertising material.
