The thrill of getting the news of a first job never diminishes. Dedication and a little patience usually pays off, but that means action. Sitting on the sofa crossing fingers is not the recipe for success. All our success stories have come about from trusting the process and having faith in what we’ve achieved since 1990.
The fact that everyday people can be transformed from a “normal” week to one that only some can dream of speaks volumes for our industry. There aren’t many cases where regular people can see themselves in national campaigns or in print or on famous brand’s social media posts (or all three) – but it happens all the time here at Models Direct.
Nothing is ever achieved by doing as little as possible. All we ask from our models is that they show determination and remain realistic, all the while dipping into their Models Direct ePortfolios to upload current images. The right job will appear over time, and once it happens, many more may very well follow.
So, getting modelling gigs isn’t as easy as registering with us, waiting a while (sitting on that sofa again?) and then our booking team contacting you with the good news. True, a lot of bookings are done quickly and with little fuss, with plenty of first-time models offered dream commercial modelling jobs having been on our books for a relatively short time. That’s not uncommon, and they’ll continue to exist. However, many jobs require a little more persistence.
It is a genuine thrill to become a model. Knowing that your looks and skills have been noticed by professionals means the time and effort has paid off. Models shouldn’t be content with just one job, though. By following the news and reading blogs and delving a little deeper into what our clients are looking for, models of any age or background can keep one step ahead and be confident of securing more assignments.
And though we specialise in providing commercial models to brands around the UK and beyond, we need to hear from aspiring or experienced actors, performers and singers. The sheer number of clients that trust us to source the best talent means we’re open to any kind of commercial flair, so we’re not limited to models.
