It’s incredible to think that one day you could be taking your pooch out for walkies and the next you could be travelling with them to a modelling assignment where they could be running in the sand to advertise a holiday resort. It might sound unbelievable but it really isn’t because Models Direct, a top UK modelling agency, helps to make these fantastic scenarios come to life.
The criteria we look for in our Star Pet models are simple:
We want them to be happy and content
Their emotions are important to us. If they’re generally happy, that’s great! And if they are generally comfortable in new environments with all the unfamiliar senses around them, and in the company of new people, modelling will hopefully be an enjoyable experience not just for them but for you too!
However, if they tend to feel distressed or fearful, it would be unfair to expect them to be the best version of themselves. The odd occasion is fine though as production teams are usually prepared for unpredictable events, particularly with animals so don’t stress too much about it! They usually know the techniques and tricks to help ease an animal into an assignment.
We want them to be healthy and cared for
This goes without saying but it’s important to still mention it. Animal neglect is unacceptable and if it’s suspected, we won’t tolerate it. Our lovely pets deserve to be treated with respect, dignity and love so if you have one, make sure you take care of it well.
Keep your dog up to date with their vet check-ups and grooming routine to help them stay in the best form.

Animals have feelings: fact! So why shouldn’t they enjoy what life brings to the table with versatile modelling assignments? Not only will they get to go outdoors (which is hands down probably their favourite place to be) but they’ll get to play and munch on treats (in moderation, of course!)
The proof is the pudding, readers! We’ve assembled some of our Star Pet owners’ feedback on how their furry friend’s assignment went. Pet Lab Co hired Alannah’s Dudley the dog. She said:
“My little French bulldog, Dudley had his first professional shoot yesterday for Pet Lab and Co thanks to Models Direct. The day was an amazing experience and Dudley was on top form. Any camera he came across, he looked at and loved being a part of the different shoots. When I got the call a couple of weeks ago, I was so overwhelmed and pleased that Dudley had been picked. Charlie from the team was amazing and she helped with all my enquiries up to the day. The studio was lovely and we had a lovely lunch provided. Dudley was given so many treats and it was safe to say he slept well last night after a long 8-hour day. TIPI hired Graham’s pooch, Weston. Here’s his review:
