How a model can work from home

You’re self-isolating to prevent getting the horrible virus, which is a good idea. But you are thinking how can I work?

What can I do? Well, you have all the time now to sort of your home life and your portfolio as a model. Getting everything in order at home, such as starting on the large pile of washing, cleaning the bathroom and other things that get left due to your busy life schedule. 

First thing to rmemeber, models are still working and no doubt you’re starting to see them yourself in curent TV advertising and features. Here’s what some of our models had to say when they did a recent Corona Virus shoot.

When it comes to your portfolio, you now have the time to sort out the best photos of you that shows the variety of talents you portray as a model. You need to make sure you have a few headshots included showing the different angles of your face and a few full body shots. You also need to have natural photos with very few edits to show the real you and photos from a selection of previous photoshoots. Coloured and black and white. If you haven’t already got a hard copy portfolio, order one. You can purchase these online, from Amazon they are roughly £15. Select the good photos and get them printed in A4 gloss. Once these have arrived, put the photos in your portfolio to display you work. This is essential for castings as they would like to see your previous work and what you can do as a model. 

On your portfolio on your Models Direct page, make sure all the information and measurements are up-to-date and add any photos you want companies and businesses to see. You need to make sure the photos show the real you and what you can do as a model. Ensure your photos shows natural, laughing, previous work and the essential head and full body shots.

Eat well during your time at home and drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated. Bring as much natural light into your rooms as possible at home and windows open for fresh air. Keep your fitness going. Go for walks around where you live, home work outs and yoga. This is important to keep active, for the mind and the body.
