Keep Your Pets Busy and Exercised

Published: 1st May 2020

We all know just how important it is that our pets are given adequate exercise to keep them healthy and happy.

Any dog owner, including those who lead busy lives within the modelling industry, will always want to find time to give their four-legged friends one good long walk every day.

But what about trying to find additional ways to keep your canines contented at home, especially at times like this when we are spending more time than ever inside?

Make Pet Time

Decide on two slots every day that will become Pet Time – this could be a 15 or 20-minute period where you concentrate on exercising your bouncing Bonzo within the home.

Those with gardens will obviously wish to make the most of their outside space while others might have to do the best they can inside the home.

Your dog model or other happy hound will start to look forward to this new time of the day as much as he or she enjoys the anticipation of a walk.

Make Space Within the Home

Identify a space where you can exercise your furry friend within the home: this might be along a hall, corridor or landing if you have one.

Look carefully at the rooms you have and consider how easy it might be to push furniture back to create your own private arena within the house.

If there are windows close to this space that you can open, then do so to bring a sense of being out in the fresh air into the home.

Make the Most of Toys

Gather together any toys that your pooch usually likes to play with: these might be outdoor balls, rubber toys or soft indoor items.

You might have items you have used while taking your four-legged friend out on pet modelling jobs or play equipment you have used for puppy training that you can dig out.

Vary Your Activity Sessions

If not, search the internet and browse the vast range of interactive pet toys and games that are now available. Check out items such as pet food dispenser balls and food puzzle toys.

Keep each indoor exercise and activity session, lively and varied.

Give your pet the chance to get the hang of whatever active game you choose to play but don’t let them get bored.

Play catch and fetch in the hall if you have one or create an obstacle course in a room if you are playing hide and seek.

Let them romp with their favourite toy for a spell, while you or other family members join in, then bring a new item in for them to experience and learn to play with.

Wind Down Afterwards

Anyone with a pet involved in animal modelling agency work will know the importance of rewarding your four-legged friend.

After your indoor exercise session, put the toys away, pull the furniture back into place and settle down to spend some quality time with your pampered pooch.

Let them know the boisterousness is now over but give them the attention they deserve and make it clear that you enjoy the fun and games as much they do.
