Love is in the air: Morrisons’ Valentine’s campaign

It’s that time of year again where we will be thinking about treating our secret crush, boyfriend, girlfriend, partner, pet or even ourselves a gift for Valentine’s Day (14th February – save that date on your phone just in case you forget!) Shops will be completely out with pink, red and plush hearts, pulling at our own hearts to buy the perfect gift for our Valentine.

According to Finder’s research, a whopping 32 million (61%) Brits will be reaching for their earnings to treat the apple of their eye. This is a romantically high stat where 4 in 5 Brits (79%) intended to celebrate it last year. What with the pandemic surging again, one can only predict that 2021’s figures will be even higher. Why? Maybe the unpredictable situation has made us feel more connected to those we love and care for which could have a positive outcome for Valentine’s Day sales.

Models Direct stepped in to give Morrisons a hand with their Valentine’s Day campaign. The Academy, a forward-thinking PR agency on a mission to help companies, brands and individuals relay information to the public in a meaningful and engaging way, came on board to help with the campaign. Morrisons requested for a male and female model to shoot some romantic snaps and get the love vibes rolling. They were asked to pose as a couple enjoying a dreamy Valentine’s meal shot at Bradford Morrisons cafe, enjoying a warm cup of coffee and some of Morrisons warm treats. Lydia and Tyler, our experienced commercial models, had a heart-warming time on their Valentine assignment, and even though this was a local store campaign, it helped to rock up the sales and profits for the special occasion.

And as for how their day went…

Lydia filled us in with her experience on set with The Academy: 

“Today I took part in a photoshoot for Morrison’s valentine’s campaign! It was an exceptional day from start to finish, everybody involved was super nice and made me feel so comfortable with the directions they gave us. Couldn’t be happier with the outcome and can’t wait to see the finished images! Once again, a huge thank you to Charlie at Models Direct for being so helpful in every part of this job, and making us feel at ease knowing we can call her if we ever needed to! Thank You!” 

Tyler also left us a review and we can’t wait to have our models feature in another assignment.
