Next: Junior Modelling for their AW Catalogue

Published: 18th Oct 2021

Next is one of the high street’s favourites when it comes to buying clothing, footwear and home products. They’re at the top with sales and quality of their products with competitive prices particularly when they do their sales.

The British multinational company approached our modelling agency, Models Direct, looking for child models to pose for their latest junior collection for their catalogue. We knew that this was not an opportunity to be missed so we got cracking and began our search for all the child models within our modelling hub who fit Next’s specifications. They knew what they wanted so we ensured we delivered models who could translate their brand’s message.

The lucky junior trio chosen for the fashion autumn/winter photoshoot were Logan, Caprice and Bonnie. Our up-and-coming stars were in for an absolute treat with this assignment. Their photographic shoot took place in Burnham Market, a gorgeous quaint English village and civil parish near the north coast of Norfolk. The photographers and crew members took plenty of refreshing images ready for Next’s online and print platforms. The assignment was beautifully curated and intelligently crafted to charm customers and prepare their children’s autumn/winter wear ready for the colder seasons ahead.

The production team were able to complete the job in half a day under the sunny skies and scenic views making the assignment such a memorable one for parents, families and friends that joined their little ones for the magical photoshoot.

We have an in-depth recount of how the day went for Bonnie by one of her parents. You can read it here and if you get a chance, you can read further reviews here to see how others have found their experiences. It’s good to get a whole picture of what it is like working as a junior model.

“Bonnie was a little nervous at the outset, but the Next crew made her feel comfortable and she absolutely shone and enjoyed the day. She would absolutely love to do it again and the comments from the Next crew were that a) Bonnie was a good find for Next and b) They would definitely like to use her again.

The assignment involved dressing in a new Next outfit and then having her pictures taken on Cromer Pier. Bonnie loved dressing up and having her pictures taken. Bonnie certainly gained experience from the photoshoot, but her confidence boost outweighed this.

I would definitely recommend others to encourage their children to do this for the experience and the confidence boost, let alone the fun element and meeting new people. We are not experienced enough yet to give advice about the industry, but I would definitely recommend joining an agency such as Talent Management as it is very hard to get exposure otherwise. We will be keeping on top of updating Bonnie’s profile from now on.

One of my friends who is an amateur photographer suggested that Bonnie had the look that certain retailers would be looking for and suggested that we send her details to Talent Management. I believe that Bon would like to continue with this type of work but she is also an athlete and is quite academic so for now, we will just see where this goes and who knows?!” – Bonnie’s Parent

Being featured as part of a campaign for such a popular brand was an incredible achievement for our junior models. It opens more doors and opportunities for our models to be noticed, recommended and selected for future work. Our models were absolutely amazing on their assignment and we hope to continue this success for all our models who are already on our books or would like to join our team
