Dewhirst – Our male models show how it’s done

Published: 25th Oct 2021

It was fashion all the way when five of our male models collaborated with a  top creative agency in the capital recently.

Our quintet of models worked with Spread Creative to get the very best stills for Dewhirst – a respectable clothing supplier with a rich history.

Dewhirst’s history can be conveyed with a simple question: What would you do with £5? Most people would buy a drink, maybe a couple of lottery tickets or simply leave it in their wallet and forget all about it. Well, in the 1880s, Michael Marks borrowed £5 from a certain Isaac Dewhirst and established his first Penny Bazaar in Kirkgate Market in Leeds. OK, so £5 in the late 19th century was the equivalent to about £600 nowadays, but it’s still a paltry figure when you consider Mr Marks’ idea grew into…wait for it…Marks & Spencer. Isaac Dewhirst became a supplier for M&S, and, today, Dewhirst is a leader in fashion design and manufacturing, delivering top-notch clothing to a range of retailers all across the globe. Just think what our models thought of this significant assignment for a company with one of the most famous backgrounds in fashion retail!

Our models – Ollie, Julius, Michael David and Ethan – all came to the photo shoot in funky Camden in north London with the enthusiasm required for any modelling assignment to run to the best of its potential. Menswear modelling has never been out of fashion – literally for centuries! – so we knew that the assignment for Dewhirst was going to appeal to our male models. The five hit the ground running, and had a whale of time being professionally photographed for social media and website purposes.

Ollie told us after the shoot, “I had a fantastic day out. I really enjoyed myself and everything was done professionally. I would definitely recommend working with Models Direct.”

“I had a great shoot working with nice clothes,” said Julius. “Charlie has been very helpful and managed to get me some amazing pictures from the job. Based on the experience I have, I would strongly recommend Models Direct.”

It must have been a dream job for the five models, as it’s not often commercial models get the chance to work with a top creative agency at a historic fashion manufacturer. We say this, but because we’re the no.1 commercial modelling agency in the UK, it’s not so rare for these types of assignments to become available. After all, we have hundreds of clients ranging from fashion brands, children’s clothing, food outlets, media platforms and global companies. In fact, there’s probably not one single type of industry we haven’t supplied models for!

We’re interested to hear of any type of model to use their skills on camera in a variety of assignments – and experience is not compulsory. If you think you have the looks, please get in touch. As long as you have the drive and the determination to succeed, it could be the start of your successful modelling career – even part-time! Whatever the job, you’ll make contacts and – of course – be paid for the pleasure.
