It was the sound of wedding bells – for our model Rhys

Well lucky Rhys, he got to kiss the bride and he wasn’t even a real groom!

Yes, our model Rhys was selected to step into the shoes of a young man about to tie the knot in a gorgeous autumn wedding photo shoot.

Models Direct Male model Rhys

Our client requested someone just like Rhys and as usual we at Models Direct offered them a selection of models who all looked the part.

They chose Rhys and he was soon all dressed up with somewhere important to go.

Wedding photo shoots – and therefore requests for bridal models – are extremely commonplace and are often a perfect starting point for new male and female models, who take on the role of the newlyweds.

Child models are also frequently called upon to act as bridesmaids and page boys, and there are also assignments for senior models playing mothers and fathers of the bride.

Sometimes clients and agencies even require models to become priests, members of the congregation and those serving food to wedding guests.

This is because weddings are big business today!

The cost of the average wedding in the UK today is somewhere over £15,000 – split in various amounts between all those who supply all the different elements to ensure the big day is nothing less than perfect

From wedding fashion designers and dress suppliers to venues, caterers, cake-makers, photographers, florists, musicians, DJs and wedding planners….the list just goes on…

And all of them need websites, brochures and campaign material with wedding photography.

In addition, there are also sometimes the mortgage, insurance and healthcare companies that might be targeting young couples just starting out on their married life too.

And they also require realistic looking photography.

So what is it like to play the part of the groom for the day?

We asked model Rhys how the autumn wedding photoshoot went, and this is what he replied:

“What an amazing first shoot! The photographer and videographer were so professional, and I really learned a lot from them.

“From start to finish, the crew and client made me feel welcome and relaxed and couldn’t do enough for me and Amy, the model I was working with.

“She was a joy to work alongside and made the experience so enjoyable.

Gemma from Models Direct was so professional and helpful too.

“I’ve got the bug for it now and can only hope more work comes my way soon because I felt like a million dollars all day – and I’m still buzzing!”
