As a model, you need to know you are safe at all times and that your rights are not being infringed.

The modelling industry is a complicated place to work within and it is not uncommon to come across conflicting information, especially when searching on the internet.

Not only can this information be confusing and fast-changing, but it can also vary from country to country.

Therefore, when reading up online, you need to know:

1. The information is from a credible, reliable and trustworthy source.

2. It is applicable to your own situation and terms of employment.

3. It relates to the country in which you are modelling.

Without doubt, the single most important step you can take to ensure your safety and protect your rights is to join a genuine, government-accredited agency.

London Campaign Shoot 

Being on set was a great experience. Everyone was so lovely and time went by very fast. I particularly enjoyed how there was a lot of guidance on how the shoot will be done, as well as being able to choose our own outfits based on what we preferred. Everyone was very professional which was great to witness as this was my first shoot.

Do you need professional photos to start modelling?

Quite simply, no!

It is a myth that you need a portfolio of professional images before dipping your toe into the world of modelling.

And any agency that tells you otherwise – or insists that you have to pay for a professional portfolio before signing up with them – should be treated with extreme caution.

There is no reason at all that you should not commission a set of photographs from a reputable, professional photographer whose work you really like if that is what you really want.

But, in all honesty, it really is completely unnecessary.
