We don’t think that’s the case just because of the stereotypical toned physiques, although, of course, that is beneficial to many fitness modelling campaigns. The main reason is that they are so versatile – sports brands use them, naturally, but they have appeared in most types of advertising campaigns in some form or another during the past years. And long may that trend continue.
Let’s turn the camera spotlight on male models. They’ve been making huge strides in the industry for decades – even when female models were all the rage in the 1970s and 80s. With more brands available to consumers, budgets are undoubtedly bigger and the scope for eye-catching advertising means that all types of models can get in on the action. It was a wonderful photo shoot assignment today. All through from start to finish, the shoot team had been very encouraging and accommodating. Giving lots of time to adjust to the shoot settings and very encouraging all through the process. Their welcoming support and hospitality during the entire shoot time was impeccable. It was an extremely satisfying experience. I enjoyed the shoot experience and very much looking forward to many more such assignments.
The models direct team have been great in providing all the information right from the time of reaching out with the offer to do this shoot, making sure I was supported well from the time I signed up to actually arriving at the venue. Its a a very satisfying experience working with Models Direct team.

Body positivity in action: how brands are redefining beauty standards
It’s been a long time coming but brands are finally realising that beauty is very much in the eye of the beholder.
In fact, there is now a much wider realisation that no two people – let alone a whole globe full of us – are ever likely to agree what makes an individual beautiful.
Beauty standards have changed over the centuries and even decades – and also vary greatly between countries and cultures.
The concept of being body positive, self-loving and proud of who we all are as individuals is gaining momentum and brands are realising they need to keep up with the times.
The days of willowy blondes being the ideal that all women aspire to and of men needing to be tall, muscular and tanned are now behind us.
They are now more and more likely to be of all shapes, sizes, skin colours, ages and looks.
In addition, more and more brands are actively choosing to hire models with glasses, piercings and tattoos.
You will see more models with unique and distinct features, such as freckles and birthmarks.
And you will see more men, women and children with disabilities taking centre stage.
Recognising just how different each of us is shows a brand is forward-thinking, modern and inclusive, which is why we are now seeing more and more of them redefining their beauty standards.
