Working on set with us is a heady mix of anticipation, excitement, professionalism and fun. We know this from many years as the most trusted modelling employment agency in the country, as well as hearing hundreds of stellar reviews from our wonderful modelling talent.
That doesn’t mean that all Models Direct jobs aren’t without precautions. Working on a live set with photographers and filmmakers is an ambition to many commercial models, but a model’s health and safety must be considered the priority. Our clients think this, too, and they’ll always do their best to maintain a model’s welfare.
There are some points to consider when keeping all models in tip-top condition on set – both physically and mentally. And these apply to all types of pet models.

Models Direct – Work – government regulated agency
We’re always proud to point out to our models (experienced or potential) that we’re a government regulated agency. Sounds open, honest and genuine, doesn’t it? It certainly does, because they are some of our core principles. But what exactly does “government regulated” mean?
In its simplest terms, we are regulated by employment law, as set out by the government. The law governs what employers can expect from employees, and what employers can ask employees to do. It also regulates the employee’s rights at work. Basically, the employment law looks after the relationship between employers and employees.
This sets us apart agencies that are not government regulated. It’s important to state clearly that our government does not operate any licensing authority for modelling employment agencies – that is just the UK government’s current stance. However, we are regulated by the employment legislation, which means we adhere to rules about how we operate. It’s this that sets apart from a handful of agencies that claim to be an “agency”, but sadly fall far short of that definition. Consider the following three points:

Gemma is a brilliant person to work with, she arranged for me to join the shoot I went to and the experience was amazing and very informative. She’s a person to assist models in prep before shoot. Model Direct know how to support their models and feature them in shoots that effectively utilise their talents and allows them to learn useful skills in the industry. The agency team encourages you to have fun and enjoy the atmosphere of the work, which puts me at ease and created a fondness in my memories to cherish. A great place to be a model.
The shoot was about all about being comfortable exuding playful energy to the camera which felt so natural and engaging. There was a lot of good food around and we were happy to treat ourselves with delectables and nibbles which were also used during our shoot too. Lucky us. I found the whole experience interesting and I am excited to do even more with Model Direct.
