The reality: Most paid modelling work in London is for real people who look like normal members of the public. This work is for advertising, e-commerce, marketing material, charity campaigns and healthcare organisations.

The reality: You can use your own photographs. Once you have joined a reputable agency, you will be put forward to a client whenever they are seeking someone like you. What others suggest: If you join them, you could have a busy, full-time career. Many other agencies fail to mention that this is just not a reality for the vast majority of models: there are often huge stretches of time between jobs. They don't tell you about the limited availability for new faces and flood of competition.
The reality: Every model has quiet times. We are a busy agency, with streams of requests coming in every day - but this doesn't mean all our models are always working. We support our models through slower periods too, and while we do our best to put them forward for opportunities, we cannot guarantee work. Some models get assignments quickly, while others may not be selected. The final decision on hiring lies with the client.
