I had the pleasure of participating in a shoot today, and I wanted to share my experience. The day began with a warm welcome at reception, where I enjoyed a refreshing cup before heading to the set. There, I met Chris Golding, whose exuberance whose and detailed briefing set the tone for the day. His perspective in the country setting and clear outline of the project were both engaging and informative.
Caitlin, one of the key team members then arrived, while others assumed their roles. I was particularly struck by the fact that two of the carers featured were real-life community staff. Their soothing presence and dedication brought a genuine energy which was infectious.
The photographer’s expertise was exceptional, with some great lighting and angles for every scene. The shoot was a pleasure, thanks to the variety of backdrops—kitchen, living room, bedroom, garden, and market—each thoughtfully scouted. Some scenes were bathed in soft pastel hues, while others, like the riverside walk, were beautifully dappled, creating a joyful atmosphere. The focused nature of the work yet on such a pleasant day was disciplining.
The shoot balanced the challenge of portraying the emotional weight of separation with the need to make the living accommodation accessible and appealing. Having experienced loss myself last year, I found the sensitivity with which this was handled quite moving.

I recently joined MD and received my first assignment quickly. I appreciate how honest and transparent MD is and how pro-active they are. At every stage, I felt a strong connection with a member of their team, from Anna who saw me through the sign-up stage, to Charlie, who supported me through my first assignment.I loved the fact that the opportunity I received was completely unique and gave me the chance to use my music skills. 1st timeI’d like to start by expressing my genuine appreciation for finally being given the opportunity to take part in the recent commercial shoot for Greene King at Cheadle Hulme. This was my first modeling experience with Models Direct since joining back in 2023, and overall, the day itself was incredibly fulfilling. I thoroughly enjoyed being part of a vibrant set, meeting new people, and contributing to scenes I didn’t expect to be involved in — it truly gave me a glimpse into the potential of what this career could be.
That said, I do feel it’s important to share some honest feedback regarding the process leading up to this point. While I’m grateful for the experience, I can’t ignore the fact that it’s taken nearly three years to receive my first assignment. During this time, I’ve seen others come on board and secure shoots within a couple of months, which has been difficult to witness as someone who’s been committed to the journey since 2023.
I understand that opportunities in this industry can be unpredictable, and that sometimes it’s about timing and fit. However, the wait has been disheartening at times, especially without consistent communication or clarity on how I could have improved my chances. I say this not out of complaint, but out of a sincere desire to be considered more actively moving forward.
The shoot reminded me how much I enjoy this space, and I hope this can be the beginning of more regular opportunities. I’m committed, adaptable, and ready to bring more energy and professionalism to future assignments.
Thank you again for the opportunity — I just hope it won’t take another three years for the next one.

It was a lovely shoot day, of which I had so much fun with the client,photographers and my fellow models; They were all lovely people and we had an amazing time together during the shoot.
They were very welcoming to make sure we were comfortable despite the weather and provided us meals of our choice too.
