When it comes to winter wear as a model, this latest Models Direct blog is full of goodies perfect for the festive season. We’ll lend you some ideas that won’t blow the budget and offer up interpretations of cool and cosy looks with pieces you probably already have in your wardrobe.

So, without further ado, we’ll dive straight in with our cool looks and cosy layers for the perfect winter photoshoot inspo for female and male models, particularly if the brand or company that has hired you is happy for you to take the reign.
Classic winter staple: the roll-neck
Who doesn’t have one in their wardrobe? Whether it’s a top, jumper or jumper dress, the roll neck is an old faithful element and perfect to keep warmer in the winter. It can elevate even the most casual of outfits and teamed up with tailored trousers or with something super chill such as jogging bottoms can be a great way to dress it down. We love the genius thinking behind the juxtaposition of smart and casual.
Wear thermals
An excellent means of layering is to invest in some thermals. A thermal top, leggings, vest, and socks are perfect for beating the winter weather. You can still enjoy your statement pieces with an added layer of warmth so no need to sacrifice style over the cold snap.
Blanket scarf

If you’re having your photoshoot outdoors, the scarf is a perfect winter accessory which doesn’t need to be boring. You can add different textures in the mix and combine similar colours to help the colours work in harmony. Don’t discount prints though, you can implement them in the winter too. Just layer neutral colours over the top to help the print look more subtle and seamless.
Other statement pieces you can interpret into your look:
Puff jacket
Long coats
Boots
Materials you can enjoy in the cold weather:
Velvet
Wool
Denim
Bouclé
Corduroy
Winter colours you can incorporate into your upcoming photoshoot:
Winter whites
Deep olive
Burgundy
Brown
Black
Natural tones if the same palette

So, rummage through your wardrobe and see what you can find. Chances are you’ve got some of the key winter staples we’ve mentioned. If not, look out for the colours and/or materials we’ve highlighted to see what you can try out for your next winter modelling photoshoot.
