Modelling over Christmas is eventful, exciting – and quite unlike anything else!

So, congratulations if you have secured a booking through Models Direct this festive season!

But if not, and you are already on our books or are considering joining us, then you may well also still be interested in finding out more about assignments during the Christmas rush!

Well, the first thing to be aware of is that if you are modelling over Christmas and New Year, you are highly unlikely to actually be working on a festive-themed shoot.

This is because the vast majority of festive campaigns are actually prepared well in advance.

Yes, if you are booked for a festive food campaign or Christmasy home interiors shoot, you are likely to find yourselves tucking into turkey or warming yourself by a roaring fire in the depths of summer!

Latest posts…

Or at the very least in the early autumn months…

The production teams who put adverts, promotions and campaigns together like to give themselves plenty of time to create their concept, find the right models, carry out their shoots and then focus on post-production work.

Having said that…

There are always some last-minute festive bookings, especially in today’s world, where so much publicity now takes place through social media.

Not only do these platforms tend to have much shorter lead times between content creation and posting, but they do also, on occasion, operate in real-time.

In addition to this, of course, Models Direct has a strong presence in the promotional modelling sector.

This is when we send our male and female models along to live modelling assignments, where they might be helping out at a store opening, product promotion or other event.

And, of course, some of these may well be Christmas-themed and take place during the busy festive season.

Regardless of all of the above, however, December and into January can generally be a very busy time for all sorts of different modelling assignments, not just those that are Christmas-focused.

Many people work right up to December 24 and then again between December 27 and January 31.

So, in theory, our models can be booked for any type of job during this time.

December and January are when campaigns, promotions and advertisements for the summer start hotting up.

So you might find yourself modelling beachwear or sunglasses or posing with bottles of sun protection, for example.

But whatever the job you are sent off to at this time of year – whether it is Christmas-focused or not – it will definitely be fast, furious and great fun!

This is because:

*Teams are aware that they have limited time to work during the Christmas period.

*They often want to get as much done as possible before the new year begins.

*Everyone is also very busy outside work – going to parties, Christmas drinks and family celebrations.

*Many people are also aware of the presents they still need to buy and the food they need to prepare, which can contribute to the overall sense of needing to move quickly.

*There is a general feeling of happiness, liveliness and excitement in the air, which makes any kind of work seem much lighter and more fun.

*Even if the set itself is not Christmasy, the wider environment may well be – and this can also bring a sense of something special.

*And similarly, people may be listening to Christmas music and snacking on festive treats during moments of downtime.

So the message really is, if you have any kind of modelling booking at this time of year, ensure you are well prepared, ready to concentrate and able to give it your all.

Beyond that, all we would say is make sure you enjoy it too!

Christmas modelling is truly unique – so make it an experience to savour and remember forever.

Male model Joseph and child model Connor both took part in modelling assignments at Bluewater Shopping Centre through Models Direct.

Afterwards, Joseph said:

“I had a really fun day shooting for Bluewater on the ice rink.

“The people were amazing and everyone was so professional. I can’t wait to do it all again!

“ The ice rink itself was such fun to skate on, with the Christmas tree in the middle making it an amazing background.”

Connor’s parent told us:

“Connor had his first assignment at Bluewater today for the Christmas campaign.

“He thoroughly enjoyed every second.

“Everyone was so helpful, friendly and welcoming.

“He’s looking forward to the second part of this shoot next week for the ice rink and grotto.

“Big thanks to Charlie at Models Direct who has been fab.”
