They grow quickly, don’t they?

Parents don’t want to miss out on any of their baby or child’s lives because, in what seems like the blink of an eye, they turn into young, confident adults.
If parents or guardians reading this haven’t thought about their child or baby’s modelling potential, now could be the time to consider it. We’ve placed many toddlers and children with famous brands like Disney, Jet2.com and Premier League football teams over the last few months or so, and we’re just as keen to keep our clients happy with fresh faces as parents are to see their little darlings fulfil their potential in front of the camera.
A crucial part of being selected by top companies is to keep modelling portfolios updated. Though it’s essential for any model of any age, it’s perhaps even more vital for those of a pre-teen age.
Parents understandably love to take hundreds of snaps and reels of their young ones. Every parent does, and we can’t blame them. The age of innocence will be forever captured, and relatives can fondly remember how their grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins looked before the pressures and routines of adult life.
Taking plenty of photos and short films is an excellent addition to any child’s portfolio, which is seen by any client when we recommend suitable models for their campaigns.

But how can you keep your child or baby’s portfolio updated and in the best possible shape should a client wish to see it? Life can be hectic, so we’ll forgive parents for letting a few things lapse.
First, never let a unique or perfect pose go to waste. In the age of Smartphones, millions of photos are taken every hour; even if you only like one photo from the dozen you’ve taken then it’ll be worthwhile.
Second, always remember that portfolios that haven’t be updated for a few weeks are detrimental to your child’s chances of being picked. Clients want to see a baby’s current looks, whether they are surprisingly curly locks, a picture-perfect cherubic face or a healthy skin glow. Whatever you think your baby has that we and our clients will want to see, we need to be able to an accurate representation. With babies and children growing at such fast rates, this is even more critical.
Third, why not put reminders in your phone or on your calendar? It’s quite old school, but it works. Even Post-It notes on walls or on fridge doors to remind you to post new snaps of your gorgeous baby. Whatever works can’t be bad!
And also, please remember: baby modelling is hugely rewarding, but it is competitive…even more reason to keep portfolios fresh and current so they stand out from the others.
Good luck!
