Every business or sector can experience soars in sales at any time of the year as well as a dip in sales. Many grow significantly every year, whilst some maintain sales with (relatively) minimal profit margins. But that’s still growth, and sometimes geopolitical factors influence a brand’s commercial success. Some businesses rely on our nation’s morale and general happiness, as well as the national Budget, increases in National Minimum Wages and the GBW (Great British Weather). In short, there are many factors that dictate how well certain businesses do commercially – some are obvious, others not so.

A lot of businesses implement punchy, eye-catchingly effective marketing strategies to keep them one step ahead of competitors. The idiom of “spend to accumulate” is the essence of advertising, and whilst the use of AI cannot be ignored, real life models are essential to the UK beauty, fashion and fitness sectors. Business-wise they all suffer the highs and lows of any other sector, but at the heart of their marketing are everyday commercial models that represent realistic looks that sell products.

2026 looks set to be a bumper year for our talented models. We provide thousands of commercial models to businesses in the fitness, fashion and beauty sectors. These sectors don’t have to specialise in these areas: plenty of our clients are large retailers who sell and market items and apparel in these sectors, so there is a lot of scope for commercial modelling in the second half of 2026.

Models Direct fashion models are used by clothes retailers and designers to portray to the public what their products look like on real people. Our fashion models are not catwalk models; commercial modelling is more realistic and practical than that!

Our fitness models – both male and female – continue to excel. It’s not all posing in front of the camera in the latest sports fashions, though. For example, our modelling couple Grace and Alex were asked to take part in a “semi-strenuous” hands-on modelling job in Fife, where they demonstrated the merits of The Rhynd Club’s fitness activities – inside and outdoors. Beauty brands have always looked for new openings in the industry, whether it’s male grooming products or the latest in mascara or perfume. The industry is massive, with hundreds of self-starters wanting a slice of the action. We see no reason why this year won’t be even more profitable for businesses, which, of course, means even more opportunities for our modelling talent!
