You might have a pet that is just so cute to look at that people keep telling you they would make a perfect model…
Or perhaps your puppy, kitten or rabbit is especially cheeky, interesting or unusual looking and is therefore engaging for other reasons.
Equally, it might be that your dog is beautifully trained or your cat is especially relaxed when around lots of people and activity.
Whatever the reason for considering putting your animal forward for pet modelling with Models Direct, getting started could not be easier.
Just follow our simple five steps:
1 Take some photos
We will need to see what your furry or feathered friend looks like – so please send us some pictures! You don’t need to pay for a professional photo shoot, images taken on your own smartphone or digital camera should be fine. The most important factors are to ensure the pictures are clear, well lit, not cluttered and show your pet off at their very best. Take photos of your pet against a plain background and ask a friend or family member to help you to distract them, catch their attention or play with them so you get some good shots.
2 Edit your photos down
We only need to see two or three pictures to start with, so send us the very best ones. Be ruthless as you discard the images that aren’t great and save only those that really stand out. Don’t put the photographs through any filters or editing apps and make sure you save, send or upload them without reducing them in size, as this can cause them to be blurry.
3 Fill in our form
Read the reviews from the owners of our other modelling pets, peruse our blogs to gain an understanding of the kinds of assignments our models attend and have a look at our client list. Then fill in our online form and tell us all about your pet and the sort of work you think he or she might be suitable for.
4 Wait for us to get in touch
One of our highly professional team members will get in touch with you. They will explain more about how modelling with us works, what you can expect and how to ensure your pet has the best chance of being selected for bookings. It is important to understand that we cannot guarantee to place any of our models. Our clients approach us seeking models, we send them a shortlist of suitable pets or people and they then make the final selection as to who to employ.
5 Be ready to respond
If you decide working with us could be right for you and your pet – and they are successful in their application – then you need to be ready to come back to us quickly if they are offered an assignment. You also need to ensure you keep your pet’s e-portfolio up to date by regularly uploading new images, checking contact details and including information on any work they complete.
Pet modelling can be great fun – this is what Christine told us after taking her dog Sansa along to a shoot for the supermarket chain Morrisons:
